What is Tarot reading?

A Tarot deck consists of 78 cards which symbolise different emotions, situations and issues. Because they have developed over time, a rich range of imagery can be found in the cards - including elemental, literary and Christian influences.

The enquirer asks the reader a question, or highlights the area of focus. The reader then selects the layout, or 'spread', which they feel will most effectively address the matter at hand. They then shuffle the deck, lay out the cards and use knowledge and skill to interpret the symbols presented.

How does it 'work'?

Nobody knows for certain - but there are two basic schools of thought. The first is that the enquirer's subconscious permeates the deck and influences how the cards come out. The second is that the spirit world answers the question, by doing much the same thing.

I believe in a mixture of the two. Although I am well aware of the spiritual dimension, I also have a scientific mindset and think that the enquirer's mind has as much to do with the outcome as any possible external influences.

What happens if I want a reading?

E-mail me with your name, date of birth, and question or issue. I will check whether any further information is needed, and then send details of how to send a small donation-type 'fee' (at least £5 please, usually via PayPal). Once you've paid, I will read for you and send the results.

I generally manage to address most issues in one reading, and I am happy to provide some 'after-sales service' for questions or comments. However, please be aware that if something major arises which requires further investigation, you will have to pay for a second reading.
